Did you know that coffee originated from subtropical Africa and some of the islands of southern Asia? It’s interesting to see how a drink that is native to a subsection of the world is now enjoyed by people worldwide and in different forms. I will look at the history of coffee, it’s origins as well as the countries it’s currently grown.
I’ve traveled to various countries oversees and I remember how much coffee was enjoyed in various forms by people of different cultures. In some countries people preferred drinking plain coffee – with no milk or sugar. In others espresso was the drink of choice. Where I live, the term “double double” is very common when someone orders their coffee. Within this site, I will look at the different forms that coffee can come in. For example, what is the difference between a cappuccino, an espresso and a latte?
Coffee doesn’t necessarily have to be a hot drink. Another interesting coffee fact is that in 2015, 15% of coffee drinkers tried cold brew.
